Raptors new alternate road uniform

Raptors introduce the new alternate road uniforms, its black with a prominent red insert color.

“We are very excited about the concept of our new alternate jersey which brings black back into prominence while enhancing our staple color red,” said Bryan Colangelo, president and general manager of the Raptors. “The inclusion of a maple leaf on the jersey is a tribute to all of Canada who we proudly represent.”

The Toronto Raptors announced that they will tip-off their 14th season on Wednesday, October 29 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The home opener is set for Friday, October 31 against the Golden State Warriors.

The Raptors are well represented in Beijing as Chris Bosh, Jose Calderon, Roko Ukic and Giorgos Printezis are all participating for their countries.

Anthony Parker underwent surgery Wednesday Toronto to repair an injured extensor tendon in the middle finger on his right hand. Parker will have his hand set in a cast for three weeks, after which he can begin his rehabilitation.

Forward Andrea Bargnani had surgery in Italy to remove his adenoids and repair a deviated septum. Bargnani is required to have two weeks of non-activity before resuming his workout schedule.

With the Raptors trailing the best-of-seven series 2-0 they return to Air Canada Centre tonight looking to pull a little closer to the Magic.

RAPS UPDATE

The Raptors fell behind in the first quarter once again but they rallied to take the lead in the final minute with a chance to steal the game but they came up just short losing 104-103 to the Magic. The Raptors now trail the series 2-0 with Game 3 Thursday at the ACC.

Playoffs to Commence In Orlando Sunday

The Raptors will tip off the 2008 NBA playoffs in Orlando on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on TSN. Game two is set to go on Tuesday.

The series will make its stop at Air Canada Centre Thursday, April 24 and Saturday April 26. The rest of the broadcast schedule is still to be announced. Check out Raptors Playoff Central for full coverage.

The Raptors rebounded from Friday's loss and exacted some revenge for a loss in Seattle earlier in the season as a second-half surge helped down the Sonics 114-106 Sunday. Rasho Nesterovic came up big as he poured in 17 points, six rebounds and led the team with six assists.
